Daikin Sweden
March 3 2008On the 31st of January 2008, Daikin Europe acquired 100% of the share capital of its distributor in Sweden, Svenska Daikin A.B., after a successful business relationship of 25 years.
Daikin A.B., with headquarters in Solna, Stockholm, has been a Daikin distributor for 25 years and has realized sales of approximately 7 million € in 2007. On the 31st of January 2008, Daikin Europe N.V. acquired the remaining 90% of Svenska Daikin’s shares, to increase its shareholding to 100%. As of this date, Svenska Daikin A.B. changed its name into Daikin Sweden A.B.
A major step in Daikin’s heating expansion.
The acquisition puts Daikin Europe N.V. in a position to strengthen the future development of the company. Sweden is considered as the largest heat-pump market in Europe. Next to a further strengthening of its position in the A/C market (both in direct expansion and applied systems), Daikin will especially focus on developing its position in the air-to-air and air-to-water heat pump market. As a new representative of Daikin’s strategic move in the heating industry, Daikin Sweden A.B. is the first Heating Affiliate of the group.
Increased support and development opportunities for staff
The 10 employees of Svenska Daikin A.B., now belonging to an international organisation, will be able to take advantage of increased support from Daikin Europe N.V. The ambitious targeted sales expansion will be supported by an extension of the manpower which will make it possible to provide even better services to our ever expanding sales network. Mr Koen Matthys will be appointed as Managing Director of Daikin Sweden A.B. and he will in this function be supported by the experienced Olof Elvander.
